Floor plan

The Core Facility comprises 12 climate chambers of various sizes and features, three workrooms, and a changing room. In addition to high-light chambers with height-adjustable tables, experimenters also have access to rack chambers for conducting their experiments. All chambers feature floor-level access to facilitate barrier-free loading.

Safety levels

Climate chambers 1 to 10, along with the adjacent corridors and two workrooms, are approved for genetic engineering work at safety level 1. Climate chambers 11 and 12, as well as the adjacent workroom, meet the requirements for genetic engineering work at safety level 2. These areas are separated from the S1 area of the facility by an additional door.

Technical equipment

The lighting system consists of LED modules that can be continuously adjusted across five channels, allowing users to customize the light spectrum to suit their experimental needs. Green working light enables work in the dark without impacting plant growth. In addition to day/night programs, day cycles with varying spectra, temperatures, and humidity settings can be programmed.

The available channels are:

Warm white (3000 K)
Cold white (6500 K)
Blue (444-457 nm)
Red (646-666 nm)
Deep red (710-740 nm)
UV-B (310 nm) (only in chambers 7 to 12)
